Economist and politician
Jose Antonio graduated from Notre Dame with a Bachelor’s degree in Economics and obtained his PhD from Yale University in 1976. He served as Minister of Agriculture and Minister of Finance. He was Director of Colombia’s Planning Department and Secretary General of CEPAL. Currently he is a professor of Economics at Columbia University in New York. He has also taught at Andes and National Universities in Bogota and was Adj. General Secretary of the United Nations.
